Hyune Hand
President
Hyune Hand joined Hoover's as President in February 2009. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of Hoover's initiatives and for driving overall strategy by focusing on the necessary fundamentals to deliver growth within Dun & Bradstreet's (D&B) Internet Solutions Business, which includes Hoover's.
Hyune has shown great leadership throughout her 14-year career at D&B. In her tenure, she was responsible for driving consistent, year-over-year, double-digit growth in various sales leader roles. Hyune successfully led a number of key D&B initiatives and teams, including customer relationship management, telesales, strategic/large account sales, and redistribution (VAR) sales, as well as industry sales focused on telecom, insurance and financial services. In addition, Hyune served in a corporate role as Chief of Staff for D&B's Chairman.
Much of Hyune's career has focused on sales leadership and B-to-B database management. Her leadership results will yield a cultural transformation of D&B's Internet Solutions Business into a growth engine for the company. Hyune was born in South Korea, spent many years in Brazil, and moved to the U.S. to attend school. She fluently speaks both Portuguese and Korean, and holds a BA in Business Administration from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Hyune resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband and son.
Peter Poulin
Executive Vice President, Marketing
Peter Poulin joined Hoover's in July 2008 as Executive Vice President of Marketing. A 25-year high tech veteran, Peter has spent his career building new businesses and turning around underperforming operations. His primary areas of expertise are sales, marketing and general management, where he has had P&L responsibility up to $1.3 billion.
Before joining Hoover's, Peter spent a nearly 14-year career at Compaq Computer Corporation, which included leadership of a worldwide Internet commerce business unit, as well as P&L responsibility for a $900 million public sector business unit. He then spent eight years as the sales and business development leader for three technology startups, two of which (software companies) were acquired. The third, Segway LLC, continues to market its ground-breaking Human Transporter technology.
Immediately prior to joining Hoover's, Peter served as the North American VP of Sales, Marketing and Service for American Power Conversion, a $2.5 billion data center infrastructure company. Peter holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
Mamie Jones
Vice President, Technology
Mamie Jones joined Hoover's as vice president of technology in June 2008. In this role, she is responsible for helping to drive technology transformation for all of the company's Internet initiatives. Mamie, with more than 20 years of software development experience, joined Hoover's from Dell, where she served as director of IT.
Prior to her years at Dell, Mamie served as senior vice president of product development for Travelocity.com, a subsidiary of Sabre Holdings, where she oversaw core technology initiatives and product development for the company. She joined the Travelocity technology team a year before the company launched in 1996 and fulfilled a critical role in the successful implementation of the company's Internet initiatives.
Mamie began her career at American Airlines in 1987, joining the airline's Decision Technologies business unit in 1989 where she helped design and build Sabre's Qik Access family of products. Throughout her career, Mamie's focus has been software design and development, for which she has proven her leadership abilities by creating best-in-class teams dedicated to implementing high-quality, innovative products and services. Mamie holds an M.S. in Education from Portland State University and is a member of the CIO Executive Council and Women in Technology International.
Mark Walters
Vice President, Advertising Sales & Operations
Mark Walters joined Hoover's in June 2008 as vice president of advertising sales and operations. Prior to joining Hoover's, Mark served as associate publisher of online advertising for Newsweek magazine, where he was responsible for increasing revenue by more than 450%.
Mark joined Newsweek from Publicitas North America, where he served as director of sales and managing director of integrated media. Publicitas is a division of PubliGroup, a multi-billion dollar global media services organization serving clients such as Forbes, USA Today, MP3.com and Bloomberg.
Mark's career began in 1992 when he became a sales executive with TMP Worldwide. He then joined Texas Business Magazine as associate publisher. Following his three years with this magazine, Mark ran online advertising for Dallasnews.com and Guidelive.com for the Belo Corporation.
Mark has extensive experience creating integrated sales teams for traditional publishers and expanding the scope of print and broadcast media sales teams to identify, develop, and integrate online opportunities. Mark has 15 years of integrated media and operations management experience.
Heidi Tucker
Vice President, Business Development
Heidi Tucker serves as Vice President of Business Development at Hoover's, a D&B Company. In this role, she is responsible for driving all business development efforts, including identifying and building new alliances, partnerships, and acquisitions.
Prior to this, Heidi was Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales at First Research, where she led the company's North American expansion into new sectors: telecom, technology, and business services. Prior to joining First Research, Heidi was president of Off My Ears, a marketing and business development consulting practice. Previously, she was Vice President of Marketing for Courtlink Corporation, now a division of LexisNexis. She also spent 18 years with Bank of America, holding many roles in finance and marketing, culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Marketing for Bank of America's Small Business Banking division.
Heidi holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA in International Relations and Economics from Mills College. She is currently president of the board of International Ballet Theatre and a member of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Western Washington. Heidi has also been a member of two international diplomatic trade delegations: Baltics (2005) and China (2008). She resides in the Seattle area with her husband and two children.
Jeff Cross
Vice President, Business Excellence
Jeff Cross was named Hoover's Vice President of Business Excellence in 2009. In this role he is responsible for building the company's infrastructure and processes with a focus on operational excellence and analytics to drive the business. Prior to this role, Jeff served as Hoover's Vice President of Finance and Administration during and after the company's acquisition by Dun & Bradstreet in 2003. Jeff has also served as Chief Financial Officer of D&B's Small Business Group, where he was instrumental in driving double-digit growth.
With more than 25 years of experience in accounting, management, business strategy and financial planning, Jeff's industry experience includes information services, manufacturing, construction, Internet, high technology and public accounting. He joined Hoover's in February 1997 as Controller, and was appointed Treasurer and Director of Finance and Administration in September 2000.
Jeff holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and is a member of Financial Executives International, Texchange and the Financial Executives Networking Group.
Tom Wickersham
Vice President, Sales
Tom Wickersham joined Hoover's in July 2009 as Vice President of Sales. In this role, he is responsible for driving Hoover's top line sales, as well as sales excellence, the customer experience and loyalty programs. Tom brings to Hoover's more than 16 years of sales and sales leadership experience.
Before joining Hoover's, Tom spent his career with Dun & Bradstreet, where he held various sales and sales leadership roles. Most recently, Tom served as the Regional Vice President for D&B's Northeast Middle Market customers. Prior to this, he led D&B's Mid Atlantic Strategic Accounts team, with a large focus on the Financial Services and Telecommunications industries.
Tom is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in Marketing. He also has an MBA from Villanova University.
Greg Stern
Vice President, Product Development, D&B Digital
Greg Stern serves as Vice President of Product Development for D&B Digital, where he oversees the development of Web site features and functions across D&B's public-facing Web sites. Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Product Development at AllBusiness.
Greg has spent the last 15 years in various senior-level product management roles. He spent a year as a consultant to Primedia Automotive, where he was charged with developing the overall online business strategy, which resulted in the $72M acquisition of Automotive.com. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of developer relations at Macromedia, where he was responsible for developing and overseeing various initiatives including a software subscription program, developer community relations and Flash video.
Greg was also Senior Vice President in charge of product development and content at DevX.com, Senior Vice President and General Manager at CNET, where he founded builder.com, and Vice President and General Manager at Seybold Seminars, where he was responsible for the Seybold line of publications, conferences and trade shows.
