ABB A G Company Description

ABB AG, also known as ABB Germany, is a subsidiary of power and automation technologies giant ABB Ltd. and the holding company for the group's German operations. Its units manufacture and distribute power transmission equipment, power generation equipment, and industrial and building systems. It has a structure similar to that of its parent company and focuses on two core operations: power technology systems and automation technologies. At one time the name of the holding company, ABB AG became the name of two separate subsidiaries (the other one is in Austria) in 1999 when holding company ABB Ltd. was formed. The group stems from the merger of Asea AB and BBC Brown Boveri AG in 1988.
